Disk and Phone Issues

Some of the latest enquiries about busted hard drives and phones appears below. If you have a problem, get in touch with me, I may be able to help.

Hi I have a WD elements HDD (no encryption) the HDD was connected to an incorrect power supply and now isn't recognised by the PC. power indicator flashes but no sounds mounting etc when contected. hoping it is just PCB. I just want the data not concerned with fixing the HDD could you give an approximate cost for the service? please can you email as in work

A seagate expansion portable drive. The area where the cable "plugs" in to then connect the USB to my laptop has broken. The solder has come loose and is now not connecting so I am unable to get access to any data on it as it won't connect to the laptop. It is still under warranty for replacement but I need to recover data on it first….if you can recover and fix the connector then so much the better!

Yesterday me external hard drive stopped working. I have tried several Pc's but it still will not pick up. I have data on it that I need. I am wondering how much it would cost to retrieve the data from it?

I've been using my USB HDD ( size 500 GB ) for about two years now and there was no issues with it. However one day Windows couldn't recongize the device. I thought maybe it was a problem with Windows but no. I took the HDD out of the case and plugged it to the PC via Sata cables. The HDD doesn't start. Doesn't make any noise it's dead. I even tried it on the other PC but to no avail. I was tempted to try and buy a similar drive and switch parts but I don't want to loose the data on the HDD so I'll leave it for the professionals.

Hello today my HP Spectre crashed and I had to reinstall win10.I thought by doing so on the windows partition wont affectt the data. I had them all on desktop but they are all lost. Are they recoverable please or they are wiped off?
Please use email address to respond

There is a loud clicking sound and the pic doesn't recognise the drive.
I'm looking to see if it's possible for the files to be recovered. Specifically pictures. If so how much does it cost.

The drive is not recognised by the computer after an impact to the laptop. Suspect it's going to need the platters transplanting.
